This fern seems to enjoy the company of other ferns, or maybe it just likes growing in the same areas that other ferns do. It doesn’t mind a glance of sun at some points during the day; I often find it growing in or near ecotonal areas, in this case where field meets forest. Lady Fern appreciates loamy soil with organic matter for moisture retention; but not soggy, I do not see this species associated with wetland areas. Forms showy compact clumps; those pretty fronds force you to stop, take just a few seconds out of your busy day, and appreciate the beauty of nature. You will feel better afterwards.
